Tony Guffy

Co-founder
of Soccer Association for Youth at E.P. Tom Sawyer State Park in
1975 and was league President for the first two years.

Founded the Champion Soccer School, Inc., a non-profit
organization, and was the director for 23 years.

Was one of the first Kentuckians to attain an USSF National “C”
Coaching License in 1980.

Coached a team representing Louisville in an International
Tournament in Montpellier, France. That group stayed together
and formed the Louisville Soccer Club which was one of the first
competitive clubs in Kentucky.

Coached five State Championship Soccer teams - Westport 1978 &
80, Male 1983 and Ballard 1986 & 87 and was selected Coach of
the Year of the Southeastern United States by the National High
School Coaches Association.

The first soccer coach inducted into the KHSAA Hall of Fame in
1991 n Assistant Coach of the Louisville Thunder Professional
Soccer Team in 1987 & 88.
