First Weekend a Great Success
Thank you to all who participated in the 2007 Eurosport Challenge Cup this past weekend in Owensboro. The weather was superb, the facilities were great, referees did an outstanding job and the level of play was higher than it has ever been at this event!! I would like to take a moment to thank the Owensboro United Soccer Club, Carol Wingfield, and all of her volunteers who helped make this event such a success. I would also like to thank everyone who helped get the fields prepared as this has a direct impact on the level of play that we saw throughout the weekend. The future of soccer is bright for the youth of Kentucky. With continued focus and emphasis on coach and player development rather than results, we are heading in the right direction. Thank you for all of your support and we look forward to seeing some great semi-final and final matches in Bowling Green in June.  Great refs Hi. I wasn’t sure who to address this to, but I wanted to make sure and let someone know how much we enjoyed the refs from our game this past Saturday (June 2nd at 11:00am Javanon U12 Girls Semi Finals). They called a great game and looked like they really enjoyed their jobs. The Eurosport Challenge Cup is open to teams ages Under 9 through Under 12, both boys and girls. Beginning in 2006,The Eurosport Challenge Cup dates were changed to first rounds on the 3rd Weekend of May and the Finals on the first weekend of June.
