| Commonwealth Cup 2002 Fall Recreational State Tournament for U10-U16 | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
 The 2002 Kentucky Youth Soccer Chevy Cup was held the weekend of November 16-17 in Versailles, Ky. at the Woodford YSA Soccer Complex. Fifty-Six teams competed in 4 age groups: U10-U16 Mixed and girls divisions. On Friday night it looked as if we were not going to get the games in due to continuous rainfall during the day on Friday and into Saturday morning. However, the rain passed on Saturday and the tournament was completed without any major problems. Overall the weekend turned out to be successful despite the bitter cold temperatures and wet field conditions. District 1 walked away with five out of seven championships, with District 3 taking the other two. The Kentucky Youth Soccer Association would like to thank all the parents, players, coaches, and volunteers who braved the weather to participate in the Chevy Cup. The 2002 State Finals were hosted by the Woodford County Youth Soccer Association in Versailles, Kentucky. We would also like to thank the Woodford Youth Soccer Association and all of its volunteers for hosting the tournament and making this event possible. Thanks again and we hope to see you at the Tide American Cup in the Spring. Congratulations to all the teams who made it to the finals.
