Kentucky Awards for 2000

The Kentucky Youth Soccer Association Awards recognize outstanding achievements by Coaches, Players, Referees and Administrators in advancing youth soccer in the state.

Tim Hall  Elizabethown Youth Soccer Association

The letters came pouring in nominating Elizabethtown’s Tim Hall, son of EYSA president and District Three commissioner Jeff Hall, but surprisingly, none of them had anything to do with the ever-energetic Jeff! Tim Hall has his own fan club and he obviously earned it.

Tim’s maturity is already showing, even though he is only 16. Frank Thompson, EYSA commissioner, notes that Tim is both a leader and listener, contributing both on and off the field to the success of the mushrooming club league. He has refereed all over the country, including at the famous Disneyworld complex in Orlando, alongside his dad, who is also a ref.

Henry Jarrett III, of Jeffersontown YSA, noted in his nomination letter that he worked with Tim at the Bluegrass State Games and found him to be “hardworking and extremely dependable,” even working entire days with no slack in professionalism despite 110-degree temperatures: “Tim . . . was giving the same strong effort in the last game as he had given the first, when most of the referees were begging off games or concentrating on merely remaining erect.”

Other letters note that like any good ref, Tim is a student of the game and a mentor to others trying to become good refs. He has also maintained a 3.89 GPA in high school.
